Delivering Joe....

We checked in at 1pm on Thursday July 26th.....

There was definitely extra fluid in there. After they broke my water, there was a swamp in the room & each personnel who entered commented on having not seen so much before. I suppose I should be.....proud???? The nurse decided to "Big Daddy It" (lay 'newspaper' over it & walk away -there was only going to be more after all-)

trying to regulate blood sugars, eating a popsicle, stoned off my butt on my 1st ever epidural that worked for a few hours...

when it looked normal, every time they turned the piton on, his heart & mine, would wig out so they'd have to turn it off, then everything would piddle out & repeat cycle ALL. NIGHT. LONG.

...THEN THERE WAS JOE

At 5am Dr Renard came in and even though I was having contractions on top of each other & lots of pressure, I was stuck at 8cm, STILL..... around 8 hours later. It was decision time. She told me to go ahead & try to push. Then she told me my pushes were terrible....I hope my reply was nice.
She gave me some push tip/brush up, I pushed again through 3 more contractions & he emerged in the 2 after that, from 8cm to out. Thank God, no c-section. It took all my trying something new to agree to the epidural....which was definitely different. I can't say I regret it, I can't say I'd do it again either. I can't help but wonder how it may have complicated differently without it, but Wayne says he enjoyed MY labor more for the few hours it worked. Apparently I was loopy & less.... intense.... for those few hours. Thanks Wayne.
