Joe's at it again...
Joe has been miserable the past 48 hours. Inconsolable. He cries & cries, which is very unlike him. Saturday he developed a rash all over, starting with the trunk, then spreading. Sunday he sounded super wheezy & I decided to go into Urgent Care.

He, of course, was super alert & not wheezing or crying when we got there. They did decide to swab his nose for a respiratory panel, swab his tongue for thrush & said his rash was inductive of an infection.

Everything was positive.
He has rhinovirus, enterovirus & thrush. These viruses are EVERYWHERE up here & many preschoolers have came through showing symptoms. Rhinovirus is usually called "the common cold" & enterovirus is likely the cause of his rash & can take on many forms & cause many secondary illnesses (this one kind of scares me). More info on these by clicking their names above.

I had them check his O2 twice. The first time he was alert & not wheezing & it was 100% Then he fell asleep & was wheezing & snoring. That time his O2 was 94% which I thought was low, but they said it was fine.
sooooo we both get nystatin for the thrush since I'm nursing. He gets a humidifier & a follow up appointment.
I have a feeling this kid is going to catch everything & that it's going to be a long school year/winter.
